FHOG - First Home Owners Grant

  • VIC: $10,000 (build value up to $750,000) - must occupy the property for >12 months
  • NSW: $10,000 (build value up to $750,000) - must occupy the property for >12 months
  • QLD: $30,000* (build value up to $750,000) - must occupy the property for >6 months (expires: 30/06/26*)
  • SA: $15,000 (no max value) - must occupy the property for >6 months
  • WA: $10,000 (build value up to $750,000 (south) or $1,000,000 (north) of 26th parallel) - must occupy the property for >6 months
  • TAS: $10,000 (no limit) - must occupy the property for >6 months
  • NT: $50,000 (no limit) - must occupy the property for >12 months (expires: 30/09/27)
  • ACT: NIL

Stamp Duty Concessions

  • VIC: $0 stamp duty when <$600,000, reduced stamp duty between $600,000 - $750,000
  • NSW: $0 stamp duty when <$800,000, (<$300,000 - $400,000 for vacant land), reduced stamp duty between $800,000 - $1,000,000
  • QLD: $0 stamp duty when <$700,000 (<$360,000 for vacant land), reduced stamp duty between $700,000 - $800,000
  • SA: *$0 stamp duty when <$650,000, reduced stamp duty between $650,000 - $700,000 (brand new homes only*)
  • WA: $0 stamp duty when <$500,000 (<$350,000 for vacant land), reduced stamp duty between $500,001 - $700,000
  • TAS: $0 stamp duty when <$750,000
  • NT: NIL concessions
  • ACT: $0 stamp duty when <$1,000,000, concessional stamp duty between $1,000,000 - $1,455,000

5% Deposit Scheme - First Home Guarantee

The First Home Guarantee supports home buyers who have saved a minimum deposit of 5% (2% for single parents) of the Property Value, and meet other eligibility criteria, to buy a home. Housing Australia provides a Guarantee to the Participating Lender to enable you to borrow up to 95% of the Property Value.

2% Deposit Scheme - Help to Buy Scheme

The Australian Government Help to Buy Scheme supports home buyers who have saved a minimum deposit of 2% of the Property Value. The Australian Government will contribute up to 30% (existing homes) or 40% (newly built homes) toward the purchase price.

Super Scheme

The first home super saver (FHSS) scheme allows you to make personal voluntary contributions into your super fund to help you save for your first home. Concessional contributions are taxed at 15%. Assessable FHSS amounts also benefit from a 30% FHSS tax offset.
