FHOG (First Home Owners Grant)

  • NSW: $10,000 (value up to $750,000) - must occupy the property for >6 months
  • QLD: $30,000* (value up to $750,000) - must occupy the property for >6 months (expires: 30/06/26*)
  • SA: $15,000 (no max value) - must occupy the property for >6 months
  • WA: $10,000 (value up to $750,000 (south) or $1,000,000 (north) of 26th parallel) - must occupy the property for >6 months
  • TAS: $10,000 (no limit) - must occupy the property for >6 months
  • NT: $10,000 - $50,000 (no limit) - must occupy the property for >12 months (expires: 30/09/25)
  • ACT: NIL

5% DEPOSIT SCHEME (Home Guarantee Scheme)

The First Home Guarantee supports home buyers who have saved a minimum deposit of 5% of the Property Value, and meet other eligibility criteria, to buy a home. Housing Australia provides a Guarantee to the Participating Lender to enable you to borrow up to 95% of the Property Value.
